The BóPro brand was born in early 2020 on the back of our passion to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the field of research and development within animal health care in the dairy industry.
Lir Analytical – The Very Start…
Before I jump in and tell you all about BóPro, I need to take you back a couple of years to where our passion for research and development came from. I created our very first OG teat spray, Bacto-Lac between 2013/2014. I then published our research data on how to combat harmful bacteria in the International Journal of Dairy Technology.
From there I set up Lir Analytical in a small laboratory in Granard, Co Longford. We then expanded our laboratory to full end to end manufacturing and production.
We have trebled our team from the early days, moved to a larger premises, and achieved ISO90001 status. But one thing has remained constant is our relentless investment in research and development of bio-security solutions for the entire food chain process.

That’s interesting I know… but back to BóPro.
What started as a new product for Lir Analytical two years ago in our inhouse laboratory, has now become our most advanced product on the market.
From that point, BóPro then evolved into a whole new concept, which is now a brand with a special focus on the dairy farming community. This brand now covers research, product development and knowledge transfer for dairy farmers in Ireland.
